SCHEDULED EVENTS FOR THE ANNUAL 25TH OF MARCH 2009 PARADE

• Sunday, March 1, 3:00 p.m. at the Duke Realty Auditorium, 6133 N. River Road, Rosemont.  Presentation on the life and contributions of Makriyannis during the 1821 Revolution, by historian and Actor Yannis Simonides.

• Friday, March 6, 6:30 p.m.  at the Cretan House, 5941 N. Milwaukee Ave., Chicago.  Float Selection.

• Wednesday, March 11, 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. at the Chicago Cultural Center, 78 E. Washington, Preston Bradley Hall, Flr 3.  Mayor Richard M. Daley’s will host a reception honoring three outstanding Hellenes as well as the Hellenic Parade Celebrations.

• Thursday, March 12, 6:30 p.m. at Atlantic Banquets, 1273 East Rand Road, Mount Prospect.  Smoker/Fundraiser for Parade.

• Sunday, Marsh 15, 3:00 p.m. at the Duke Realty Auditorium, 6133 North River Road, Rosemont.  Presentation will be made by Dim Manolosakis on the remnant civilizations of Kalas and Pamir that were started by the soldiers of Alexander the Great.

• Friday, March 20, 7:00 p.m. at the Cretan House, 5941 North Milwaukee Avenue.  General Assembly to draw names of marching sequence of floats and marching groups.

• Wednesday, March 25, 6:00 p.m. at the Chicago Cultural Center, 78 E. Washington, Chicago, IL.  Consul General of Greece Mr. Anastasios Petrovas will host a reception to celebrate the 25th of March, 1821.

• Friday, April 3rd – 11:00 a.m. – at the Daley Center. Wreath laying ceremony and flag raising. Also, dance presentations by the Pontian, Cretan and Macedonian dance troupes.

• Saturday, April 4, 7:30 p.m. – Reception at Fountain Bleu, 2300 Mannheim Rd., Des Plaines, for the dignitaries and guests of the Greek Parade

• Sunday, April 5, 10:30 a.m. - Liturgy at the Annunciation Cathedral 1017 N. LaSalle; Metropolitan Iakovos presiding

• Sunday, April 5,  2:30 p.m. - Annual Greek Parade on Halsted Street in Greek Town

• Sunday, April 5,  4:30 p.m. - Luncheon for Parade dignitaries
